Wanderlei looks extremely confident coming into this fight. Wanderlei has brought Lyoto Machida into his camp to improve on his stand-up game.

By Evan Stoumbelis Last Friday Johnson vs McCall II headlined UFC on FX 3, where fans saw Demetrious Johnson defeat Ian McCall via unanimous decision. Johnson now moves on to fight Joseph Benavidez to become the first ever UFC Flyweight champion. Unfortunately, after seeing a slight climb in viewers during UFC on FX 2, numbers dropped by 300,000 for UFC on FX 3. The prelims, which aired on Fuel TV also suffered a drop in viewers, with 29,000 less people tuning in. As I watched the event I noticed it was lacking in the star-power aspect, which is understandable given that the UFC is holding 20 events in 22 weeks. Below is the compiled ratings for all 3 UFC on FX shows as well as the prelims hosted on Fuel TV.

By Evan Stoumbelis After winning gold at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship, Ronda Rousey was called out by none other than suspended Strikeforce fighter Cris Cyborg. Cyborg took to Twitter, posting an alleged photoshopped image of Gina Carano looking bloody and bruised. Following that post, Cyborg tweeted Rousey saying “You’re next Rousey: you have a d*ck, you d*ck” Cyborg is currently serving a year-long suspension after testing positive for PED’s earlier this year.

The sad news of a young athlete being paralyzed will never be softened by euphemisms or optimistic outlooks. Such is the case with 22-year-old Devin Johnson who was recently paralyzed during training session at Urijah Faber‘s Ultimate Fitness Gym in what sounds like a guillotine attempt during a takedown. By Evan Stoumbelis Matt “The Immortal” Brown is stepping in for fellow TUF competitorMatt Riddle to face Luis Ramos at UFC on FX 4 on June 22nd. Brown, who is coming off a decision victory to Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC 145, announced the bout over Facebook earlier today. In my opinion, Brown isn’t going to make a title run, I just can’t see him squaring off against Condit for the title. That being said, he is easily one of my favorite fighters, and his very exciting style of fighting that he has deemed “technical brawling” keeps fans on the edge of their seats. This fight on June 22nd is sure to be no different.

For mixed martial arts there was an amazing card top-to-bottom in UFC 146 where Junior dos Santos successfully defended his heavyweight title in dominant fashion against Frank Mir. On Sunday for kickboxing, K1 Uprising took place and saw returning icons like Mirko Cro Cop and Badr Hari go back to their winning ways in Spain.

The card featured the finale to the Heavyweight tournament as Daniel Cormier took on Josh Barnett in a bloody clash that left both men cut up and bruised. In the co-main event, a lightweight title fight between champion Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson in a classic rubber match that will not soon be forgotten.

The co-main event on Showtime that took place last Saturday is still a highly debated topic today. Gilbert Melendez was able to defend his title in a very close fought decision victory over Josh Thomson. However in the post-fight aftermath many think the fight was another case of bad judgement by the ringside officials.
