Professional boxer and undefeated MMA upstart Kim Connor-Hamby (4-0) of Stuttgart, Ark. will collide in a bantamweight (135 pounds) bout with fellow prolific striker Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith (3-2-1) of Pleasant Hill, Calif. at the highly-anticipated Invicta FC 3: Penne vs. Sugiyama, women’s world championship Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event at Memorial Hall in Kansas City on Saturday, Oct. 6. Connor-Hamby will replace Cat Zingano, whom Invicta FC has sent to compete in Strikeforce.

Two fighters will prove themselves ‘Second to None’ at the University of MMA’s next event (of the same name), scheduled for October 21 at Club Nokia at L.A. LIVE. Headlining ‘Second to None’ will be the University of MMA’s welterweight and heavyweight championship finals, respectively. These matches represent the culmination of two four-man championship tournaments which commenced at the U’s previous event, ‘Champions of Tomorrow!’ in May at the same venue.

The event will serve as BJ Penn‘s comeback fight, where he hopes to defeat the up and coming Canadian Rory MacDonald. During the course of the press conference Rory went on record as saying: “He’s upset because Georges whooped him, but I’m going to hurt him (BJ Penn) even worse.” UFC (@UFC) tweeted the quote by MacDonald.

By Evan Stoumbelis Last Saturday, Strikeforce broadcasters reported that undefeated fighter Daniel Cormier will have his final Strikeforce fight on September 29th. The promotion has yet to announce Cormier’s opponent, but after the fight, Cormier will be making the jump to the UFC regardless of the outcome. Rumors circulated that his opponent would be Josh Barnett, but this has yet to be confirmed. Cormier won the Heavyweight Grand Prix in May, and also wrestled for Oklahoma State in college, and Team USA in the Olympics
