Bas Rutten On The Fight That Got Away

BJPENN.COM News - March 21, 2014

“Rickson Gracie. At the time everyone was saying he was the greatest so I actually challenged him. People twisted the whole thing and tried to say it was because I didn’t like him. But I had nothing against him, I just wanted to find out who was the best. “And I would have loved another rematch against Ken [Shamrock], after improving my ground skills. It almost happened in Pride, and I would have come out of retirement, but he declined. He said we’d already done it twice and didn’t need a third.” Bas Rutten will go down as one of the pioneers on our beloved sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Chandler Vows To Finish Alvarez, Says Eddie Doesn't Even Believe He Won Their Last Fight

BJPENN.COM News - March 20, 2014

“I’m going to continue to come forward. That’s what I do. Eddie is going to continue to try to be slick and use his footwork, but I will get my hands on him and I will finish this fight. That’s my goal. I think I continue to prove to everybody that if you leave it in the hands of judges anything can happen. Bad things can happen… I think Eddie didn’t believe he won the fight. I think his coaches didn’t believe he won the fight. I think his family there in the stands didn’t believe he won the fight. You could tell by everyone’s reaction. His coaches told him he had to finish me going into that fifth round so they believed he was down on the scorecards.” In a recent interview with Sherdog.com, former Bellator lightweight champion, Michael Chandler, discussed his upcoming trilogy bout against current champ, Eddie Alvarez.

Hardy: 'I definitely plan on getting back in there'

BJPENN.COM News - March 19, 2014

“I definitely plan on getting back in there. It’s just the process of getting cleared and being able to now. It’s kind of frustrating, but not be honest, this commentating job came at the right time it’s given me a new challenge to focus on. And I’m able to stay very close to the sport, and still learn from the sport, from the fighters, and just be a fan. I can still evolve as a martial artist in this role. That’s the best part about it. As the sports evolving, I can be there to witness it firsthand, and take that into the gym and keep evolving myself. Then when the time comes for me to return, I won’t be out of touch.”
