Sean Strickland has taken exception to a threat from his UFC 328 opponent Khamzat Chimaev. In a recent vlog with Adam Zubayraev, Chimaev dismissed the thought of harming Strickland inside the Octagon beyond the effects of combat sports competition. What was quite eye-opening, however, was when “Borz” discussed what would happen in a street fight between the two. That’s when Chimaev said, “If he dies, he dies.”

Gilbert Burns didn’t think he’d end Saturday night by announcing his retirement at UFC Winnipeg. Burns shared the Octagon with Mike Malott inside Canada Life Centre in hopes of securing his first win since 2023. It didn’t work out that way for “Durinho,” who was stopped in the third round via TKO. After the fight, Burns took off his gloves and announced that he is done with MMA competition.

The stage could not be bigger. Their first meeting at ONE 172 in March 2025 lasted just 80 seconds, with Rodtang ending the night via left hook. Takeru rebounded by stopping Denis Puric at ONE 173 in November, earning the right to this farewell appearance. The extent of Carlos Ulberg’s knee injury has been confirmed, and the light heavyweight division will be without its champion for a while. Ulberg defeated Jiri Prochazka in improbable fashion in the main event of UFC 327 in Miami. Despite injuring his knee early in the fight, “Black Jag’s” hook found Prochazka chin, flooring the former 205-pound titleholder. Ulberg capitalized with ground punches to score the knockout win, securing his first UFC championship.

UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has a date for his return to the Octagon. Pimblett, a former Cage Warriors champ from Liverpool, UK, was last seen in action in January, when he suffered a decision loss to Justin Gaethje in a bid for the UFC interim lightweight title. That was definitely a big setback for the Brit — and it left him battered and bruised — but he is now set to get back to the drawing board.
