Bellator MMA is expanding it’s reach in the combat sports world. It was revealed on Thursday that the promotion would begin hosting Kickboxing events as ‘Bellator Kickboxing’ starting in April. The announcement was made at the Bellator 149 press conference on Thursday in preparation for Friday’s Bellator 149 card.

Conor McGregor has committed to UFC 200 fight

Ahead of Conor McGregor’s UFC 196 lightweight showdown with Rafael dos Anjos on March 5th, there was much speculation as to what McGregor would do after the fight in regards to which weight class he would fight in. McGregor stated at the UFC 196 press conference that he wanted to hold the UFC featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight championships by the end of the year.

The UFC veteran who has his twentieth UFC fight on Feb. 21 at Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center at UFC Fight Night 83 will also set a new mark with 30 fights combined with the UFC and WEC promotions. “I just want to fight,” Cerrone told ESPN. “I’ve tried to go up and take fights at 170 pounds before and [the UFC] always told me no. Now, they’re telling me yes, so I’m like, ‘Hell yeah.’

It’s no secret that UFC veteran Nick Diaz has used marijuana throughout the course of his fight career. Diaz has failed 2 drug tests throughout his fight career for marijuana, and has been an advocate for marijuana usage. Diaz was handed a 5 year suspension from the NSAC after he failed a drug test following his UFC 183 main event scrap with Anderson Silva. Diaz and the NSAC went into settlement talks after the 5 year suspension caused an uproar, and the suspension was ultimately reduced to 18 months retroactively. Given this, Diaz will once again be eligible to fight on August 1st.

Penn teamed up with Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn at Jackson-Wink MMA for his highly anticipated return. While he was initially supposed to return on March 5th, the UFC pushed the bout back to April. However, no opponent has been named for ‘The Prodigy’ in his return bout.

Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has not had any good things to say about Conor McGregor since losing to him at UFC 194 back in December. While McGregor took just 13-seconds to bring Aldo’s dreams and records to a screeching halt, the Brazilian still does not have any respect for “The Notorious” and told media in Rio de Janeiro that he doesn’t see his glory lasting much longer. “I think it’s tough,” Aldo said when asked if he thinks McGregor can beat dos Anjos and go after the welterweight title next (transcribed by MMA Fighting). “And I’ll say this: I don’t think he will have any belt by the end of the year. And everyone will forget him. He has this dream, this goal, but you can be sure that he won’t have any (belt) by the end of the year.”
