As everyone knows by now, Diaz submitted McGregor in the second round of their UFC 196 scrap to end McGregor’s unbeaten streak. Unsurprisingly, talks of a potential rematch between the two quickly became the ‘hot topic’ in the MMA community, with fans and fighters alike giving their predictions for a rematch between the two.

Going into Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping’s fight at UFC Sydney back in November of 2014, the pair engaged in some pretty serious trash talk. Now, with Rockhold holding the UFC middleweight championship, and Michael Bisping fresh off a win over Anderson Silva, Rockhold may be open to a rematch with Bisping if he defeats Chris Weidman in a rematch at UFC 199.

Late Tuesday afternoon it was revealed that a bill was passed by New York assembly that saw a bill legalizing MMA passed. The bill now moves to the desk of Governor Andrew Cuomo, who in the past has expressed his interest in signing the bill. This is a big win for the sport of MMA, and for ZUFFA, who has been trying to hold an event at the famed Madison Square Garden for quite some time now.

Earlier this week top ranked UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov took to Twitter to inform EA Sports that they got his post-fight celebration wrong in EA Sports UFC 2, and that the company needed to change his celebration as a sign of respect to himself and his fans. Nurmagomedov posted a photo on Instagram showing a message which he received from the EA Sports UFC team, apologizing for the error, promising to fix it.

His latest arrest was on March 15th after allegedly vandalizing a tattoo shop with anti-police graffiti on the building’s exterior. “Mayhem” spoke with OC Weekly about his history with the law and interestingly still has not been found guilty on any of the five cases in the courts pending against him.

Several years ago Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig was brought in as the striking coach at Team Alpha Male. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out between Ludwig and TAM owner Urijah Faber. Ludwig left and opened the ‘Bang Muay Thai HQ’ in Broomfield Colorado, and T.J. Dillashaw began spending part of his training camps training with the striking guru. Ultimately, Dillashaw left Team Alpha Male to train with Elevation Fight Team in Colorado, forcing a rift between himself and mentor Urijah Faber.

Dillashaw may no longer be allowed to step foot inside Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male in Sacramento California, however that won’t stop him from cheering for former mentor Urijah Faber when ‘The California Kid’ steps foot in the Octagon at UFC 199 to fight Dominick Cruz for the bantamweight championship. The fight will be Faber’s 4th bid for the UFC bantamweight championship, and will be his third fight with Cruz. In the pair’s first meeting back at WEC 26, Faber defeated Cruz via 1st round submission. When the pair met for the second time it was under the UFC banner at UFC 132, where Cruz defeated Faber via unanimous decision.

MMA veteran Urijah Faber has been competing professionally in mixed martial arts for 13 years, and has competed in 41 bouts as a professional fighter. In addition, Faber is the founder of Sacramento’s “Team Alpha Male”. When Faber was coaching opposite Conor McGregor on season 22 of The Ultimate Fighter, he tried to warn the featherweight champion to work on his Jiu-Jitsu before his next fight. That fight came at UFC 196 against Nate Diaz, where McGregor ultimately gassed at the end of the 1st round, and was submitted in the second round.
