Recently news broke that MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko would be returning to MMA in front of his native Russian fans when he fights UFC veteran Fabio Maldonado under the Fight Nights Global banner in June. Ahead of the fight, a shocking detail emerged that there would be no PED testing ahead of, or the night of, the fight. Following that announcement, Maldonado admitted to BloodyElbow that he had been using PEDs during the last stretch of his UFC career, and that he plans to do so in his upcoming fight against Emelianenko.

McGregor announced his retirement on social media, leaving many fans confused. UFC President Dana White then announced on SportsCenter that McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 for refusing to fulfill his media obligations for the event. While there has been quite a bit of back-and-forth between McGregor and the UFC, the UFC brass has stuck to their guns and refused to give into McGregor’s demands.

The fight will mark the second time that Edgar and Aldo have gone to battle inside the octagon. “The Answer” suffered a unanimous decision loss to Aldo in the main event of UFC 156 in February 2013.
