A women’s strawweight bout between Randa Markos and Cortney Casey kicked off the UFC 202 prelims on FS1. Round one begins and Casey lands a nice leg kick. Cortney fires off a nice combination. Randa is able to score a nice takedown and winds up in side control. Markos is landing some solid short shots from top position. Cortney is attempting to take Randa’s back. Markos scrambles but gives up her back. Casey sinks in both hooks and starts landing some big shots. Casey with two massive elbows. Randa scrambles back is still in a bad position. Casey is working for an arm-lock, but Randa breaks free and winds up on top. Cortney looks to secure an armbar. She appears to have it locked in. She does and this one is over!

Lorenz Larkin put on one of the best performances of his MMA career at tonight’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas earning a first-round TKO victory over perennial contender Neil Magny. Larkin dominated the fight by utilizing some nasty leg kicks but was also able to find a home for a brutal oblique kick on a couple of different occasions in the fight.

A welterweight scrap between Neil Magny (18-6 MMA) and Lorenz Larkin (18-5 MMA) served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC 202 Fight Pass prelims in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Magny lands a leg kick to start. Larkin replies with a hard leg kick. A nice jab from Lorenz finds a home. He lands a front kick that stuns Magny. Neil pumps his jab but eats another front kick to the body. Huge shots from Larkin against the fence. He lands a nasty uppercut. Larkin with a beautiful leg kick and another. He pumps his jab. More huge leg kicks from Larkin. Lorenz with another front kick and then a right hand. More big leg kicks from Larkin. Magny is in all sorts of trouble here. Larkin misses with a high kick. He lands a nasty low kick. Magny pulls guard but Lorenz stands back up. Neil shoots in for a takedown. Lorenz drops some huge elbows. This one is over!

UFC 202 undoubtably is one of the biggest UFC cards of the year. The event is so massive that McGregor and Diaz both earned jaw-dropping salaries for the event. The NSAC released information to MMAFighting which revealed that McGregor set a UFC record by earning $3 million for the fight, while Diaz will earn $2 million. The above-mentioned figures are in addition to the percentage of PPV sales that both men will get.

Marvin Vettori improved his record to 11-2 by scoring a first-round submission victory over Alberto Uda in the first bout of tonight’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas. Vettori was able to sink in a deep guillotine choke that forced Uda to tapout with just 21 seconds left in the opening round. Check it out:

A lightweight bout between Alberto Uda (9-2 MMA) and Marvin Vettori (11-2 MMA) kicked off tonight’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Vettori starts things off with a kick to the body. Uda replies with a kick of his own. Vettori presses forward and clinches up with Uda. Alberto reverses the position and scores a trip-takedown. Vettori scrambles and gets back to his feet and then scores a takedown. He begins working from the full guard of Uda. Vettori with some decent shots from the top. Uda lands a slicing elbow from the bottom that splits Vettori open. The Italian continues to work some solid ground and pound. Uda scrambles and gives up his back. Vettori sinks in a guillotine choke and it is deep. Uda is forced to tap.

Yesterday at the UFC 202 weigh-ins, the MMA community collectively agreed that Conor McGregor looked to be in phenomenal shape ahead of his UFC 202 rematch with Nate Diaz Saturday night. McGregor stated that throughout this camp he has focused on his cardio so as not to gas out in the first round. In the photo below, you can see a comparison of McGregor at the UFC 196 weigh-ins, compared to McGregor at the UFC 202 weigh-ins. It is important to note that McGregor weighed-in at 168 pounds at both weigh-ins.

UFC Nate Diaz knew exactly how to play his cards when both Conor McGregor and the UFC were immediately looking to put together their rematch after UFC 196. At one point, UFC President Dana White said that he didn’t know if he could put the fight together as negotiations were taking place between Diaz and the UFC. However, things were settled and the younger Diaz brother made sure to get his slice of the pie.
