Conor McGregor to Surrender One Belt if He Wins at UFC 205
Tom Taylor - September 28, 2016
Last December, Ireland’s Conor McGregor won the UFC featherweight title by knocking out the seemingly unbeatable Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds. Instead of turning around and defending his newly won title, however, McGregor then set his sights on a lightweight title shot opposite then champion Rafael Dos Anjos. As we now know, McGregor’s lightweight goals would not unfold as he planned. When Dos Anjos pulled out of their planned bout with a foot injury, the Irishman would be forced to shift his focus to a hastily-arranged welterweight bout with Nate Diaz – a fight he would lose by second round submission. This shocking loss was followed by some fairly pungent dirty-laundry-airing between McGregor and the UFC, and ultimately, by a rematch between McGregor and Diaz, in which McGregor would even the score by capturing a hard-fought majority decision win.
Claudia Gadelha Has Her Next Fight Lined Up
Tom Taylor - September 28, 2016
In late 2014, Brazil’s Claudia Gadelha lost a hotly debated split decision to Poland’s Joanna Jedrzejczyk. In July of this year, the two women went at it again, this time with Jedrzejczyk’s well-guarded strawweight title on the line. While Gadelha started strong in this rematch, she ultimately faded down the stretch, and surrendered another decision loss to her Polish rival as a result. Now an unfortunate 0-2 against the strawweight division’s reigning champion, Gadelha finds herself in a bit of a difficult position. That said, the talented Brazilian strawweight appears eager to return to her winning ways, as she has announced she’ll be taking on “Cast Iron” Cortney Casey at UFC Fight Night 100 this November 19 in her native Brazil. Gadelha announced this fight on her Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.

UFC 205, which will mark the UFC’s long-awaited debut in New York City, was always supposed to be a stacked card. Yet just a few weeks ago, the November 12 event was almost entirely devoid of high-profile fights, which led to a widespread worry that it would not deliver as the card we were hoping for. Luckily, the UFC has come through, stacking the card with a whopping three title fights, and a long list of relevant bouts featuring prospects, veterans and former champions alike.

Tom Taylor - September 28, 2016
Last night, at the official press conference for the stacked UFC 205, Jeremy Stephens did what very few fighters have the courage to do, and engaged MMA’s reigning trash-talk king Conor McGregor on the microphone. This attempt did not go especially well for the featherweight slugger. I appreciate Jeremy Stephens efforts he but he got totally destroyed by Conor McGregor. Interim UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has been waiting in limbo to find out whether UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would be returning to featherweight for a title unification fight. Nate Diaz doesn’t think much about the UFC 205 lightweight title fight between lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez and featherweight champ Conor McGregor. 'Mystic Mac' predicts outcome of UFC 205 title fight with Eddie Alvarez
bjpenndotcom - September 27, 2016
The man known as ‘Mystic Mac’ has never been shy over predicting the method and minute in which he will end a fight. And for eight out of nine UFC fights he accurately predicted, it’s safe to say that Conor McGregor has earned the ‘Mystic Mac’ moniker. McGregor (20-3), who was just announced as lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez’s first title defense at the UFC’s historic first event in New York, did not hold back when asked about how the fight will go down during Tuesday’s press conference.
Report: Jose Aldo Wants Out of His UFC Contract
Tom Taylor - September 27, 2016
Last night, it was announced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will be receiving a crack at Eddie Alvarez’s lightweight title. The two will share the main event honors of UFC 205. While this news garnered massive amounts of excitement from the fans, it did not go over so well with a number of McGregor’s peers. One fighter who appears to be particularly upset with the announcement of McGregor’s lightweight title shot is Jose Aldo.
BREAKING: Khabib Nurmagomedov Gets a Fight at UFC 205
Tom Taylor - September 27, 2016
On Monday night, UFC 205 finally got its main event. The card, which will mark the organization’s debut in New York City, will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between reigning lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, and current featherweight king Conor McGregor. This news, unsurprisingly, sent most of the fight game into a frenzy of excitement. Unfortunately, not everyone was thrilled with this news. Undefeated lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov falls into the small segment of the fight game that was disappointed by the news – but his disappointment is certainly understandable. He was, after all, recently promised a shot at Alvarez’s lightweight title by UFC President Dana White himself, only to have that promise yanked away with the booking of Alvarez vs. McGregor.

Why We'll Still Miss Jon Jones at UFC 205
Tom Taylor - September 27, 2016
UFC 205, which is scheduled for November 12 in New York City, is quickly emerging as one of the greatest fight cards in MMA history. So long as it isn’t ravaged by injuries or PED-busts – knock on wood – it might actually take that title outright. The card, which will emanate from Madison Square Garden – the setting of such iconic boxing matches as Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier 1 and Lennox Lewis vs. Evander Holyfield – has been packed to the rafters with some of the UFC’s very best talent.

bjpenndotcom - September 27, 2016
Leading up to the announcement that Conor McGregor & Eddie Alvarez would be fighting in the main event of UFC 205 for the UFC lightweight championship, it appeared as though Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is ranked at #1 on the UFC’s official rankings, would be getting the fight with Alvarez. While initial reports indicated that the UFC was attempting to book a lightweight fight between McGregor & Alvarez, UFC President Dana White revealed that it was Nurmagomedov who was offered the fight against Alvarez.

Let’s face it. Just about every person out there can make an argument for why they should be getting paid more for their job. However, when you look at it from a UFC fighter’s perspective, they are in a pretty unique situation.
Opening betting odds for Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez
bjpenndotcom - September 27, 2016
UFC 205 now officially has a main event. As we learned earlier this week, the historic card will now be headlined by a lightweight title fight between UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, and UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. In addition to the fight headlining what many consider to be the biggest UFC card of all time, it will give McGregor the chance to become the first ever simultaneous 2-divison UFC champion.
MMA community reacts to news of Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez
bjpenndotcom - September 27, 2016
Monday evening, news surfaced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would be making the jump to lightweight to fight Eddie Alvarez for his UFC lightweight championship on November 12th at the UFC’s historic event at the Madison Square Garden. The fight announcement took the MMA community by surprise after it was revealed earlier this month by UFC President Dana White that it would be Khabib Nurmagomedov, not Conor McGregor, who would be fighting Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 205.
Tim Kennedy explains timing of his return to MMA
bjpenndotcom - September 27, 2016
Tim Kennedy hasn’t set foot into the UFC’s octagon in almost three years after a controversial TKO loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178. Now on the verge of UFC 205 at the historic Madison Square Garden, the Strikeforce and UFC veteran explained the reason of his return to MMA on Monday’s edition of ‘The MMA Hour’. When asked why he’s coming back now after such a long layoff, Kennedy (18-5) discussed the new-found significance of his victory over newly-minted middleweight champion Michael Bisping and how his return to the UFC came about:
