Current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway recently discussed the ugliness of the ongoing feud between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. “You know, that things is, it’s not even a fighting thing. I don’t even worry about it.” Holloway said on The Luke Thomas Show. “I’m glad that Dana White said he was going to step in and intervene. So that’s good. But, you know these guys go such a platform. You know, let’s talk about.. what I’ve been saying is climate change. Everybody is telling me that it is supposed to be warmer right now, and it’s cold here! In Hawaii it’s cold! It’s like seventy degrees. Maybe not cold to you guys, but it is cold to me. Climate change is real guys and the earth is not flat! So let’s talk about stories like that. None of this other stuff that’s going on.”

Javier Mendez, the longtime coach of Cain Velasquez, is claiming that an illegal shot from Francis Ngannou was missed at UFC on ESPN 1. Velasquez and Ngannou squared off in the headliner of February’s UFC event in Phoenix, with “The Predator” emerging victorious by way of first round knockout.

Conor McGregor's Charges Reduced For Cell Phone Incident

According to court records per MMAJunkie, prosecutors have reduced two charges against Conor McGregor in his alleged incident with a fan and his cellphone outside a Miami nightclub last month. The Irish superstars previous charge of a felony has been reduced to a misdemeanor, which means the potential maximum sentence would only be six years as opposed to 20-years which police were pushing for. According to police records, the SBG Ireland standout allegedly slapped a phone out of a fans hand after he was trying to take a photo of McGregor picture around 5 a.m. on March 11. McGregor then stomped on the phone several times.

He’ll get that next big fight in the main event of the UFC’s May 4th return to Ottawa, Canada, where he’ll battle fan favorite contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Cowboy last fought in January, when he slowed the rise of Alex Hernandez, putting the young contender down with a head-kick and salvo of followup punches in the second round. Iaquinta believes that his experience will help him avoid meeting a similar fate when he battles the lightweight gunslinger in the Canadian capital.

Speaking shortly after a Q&A session with students at Moscow’s Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Khabib Nurmagomedov addressed the recent trash talk he’s received from Conor McGregor.

Last night, amid the festivities of WrestleMania Week, Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport returned with a second, thrilling show. This pro wrestling show featured a host of UFC veterans including Barnett himself, Dan Severn, and Frank Mir, who was making his pro wrestling debut. Mir won his pro wrestling debut, submitting Severn with a heel hook. In his post-victory speech, he issued a callout of fellow UFC veteran Brock Lesnar, whose first claim to fame is as a WWE star.

Over the last few weeks, most of the Conor McGregor headlines we’ve seen have unfortunately been negative, as the Irish MMA star has been involved in some legal trouble outside the cage, and engaging in some nasty trash talk with his arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov on social media. Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s online trash-talk took a turn for the worse yesterday. The two sent personal attacks back and forth, where both went after each others families, with McGregor also seemingly taking a shot at Nurmagomedov’s religion. It got so bad that UFC President, Dana White issued a statement that the UFC would speak to both camps about their behavior to try and stop it from continuing.

On June 8, the UFC will return to Chicago, Illinois for UFC 238. In the card’s main event, a new bantamweight champion will be crowned as the vacant title will be fought over when flyweight champion, Henry Cejudo moves up to face Marlon Moraes. As the UFC has been doing lately, they’ve installed back up fights or fighters in the case that the main event or title fight has an issue with one of its participants. In the UFC 238 co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko looks to defend her flyweight title against Jessica Eye. Also on the card is Joanne Calderwood facing Katlyn Chookagian. Calderwood has revealed since the fight’s announcement that she will be on standby in case something happens in the title fight.
