Paddy Pimblett and Renato Moicano have agreed to fight one another following Saturday’s UFC Vegas 85 main event.

Moicano picked up a decision win over Drew Dober in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 85 on Saturday to extend his win streak to two. Following his win, the Brazilian took to social media to claim that Dober should fight Pimblett next as he thinks it would be a good test for both of them.

“I want to see drew Dober fighting paddy pimblett next… let’s see how tough is this kid….,” Moicano wrote.

After Renato Moicano called for Drew Dober to fight Paddy Pimblett next, the Brit took to his social media to call for a scrap with the Brazilian instead.

“Why would I fight Dober when I could smoke u easier? @Renato_Moicano_UFC,” Pimblett responded.

Following Paddy Pimblett’s remarks, Renato Moicano confirmed he was interested in the bout and called for it to take place at UFC 300.

“Paddy is calling me out I fight you any day of the week. There’s your ufc 300 main event ladies and gentlemen…. Moicano vs paddy,” Moicano wrote.

It is a change of direction from Renato Moicano who had originally called for a matchup with Beneil Dariush following his win at UFC Vegas 85. However, Moicano says he would be happy to beat up Pimblett if the Brit is truly interested in fighting him.

“I want fight Dariush but if paddy wants the smoke… he can have it,” Moicano added.

On paper, a matchup between Moicano and Pimblett makes a lot of sense. It would be a top-15 opponent for Pimblett to see if he belongs in the lightweight ranks, while it would be a big-name opponent for Moicano as he looks to continue to build up his name and popularity.

As of right now, however, it’s uncertain if the UFC is interested in the potential fight between Moicano and Pimblett.

Renato Moicano (18-5-1) is on a two-fight winning streak and coming off a decision win over Drew Dober. Before that, he submitted Brad Riddell to return to the win column after a decision loss to Rafael dos Anjos in a fight he took on short notice.

Paddy Pimblett (21-3) is a perfect 5-0 in the UFC and riding a seven-fight win streak. The Brit is coming off a decision win over Tony Ferguson in his first fight in a year after a controversial win over Jared Gordon. Pimblett is also the former Cage Warriors featherweight champion.
