Sinsamut faces Trujillo at ONE 170 for “very big” showdown

By BJPENN.COM Staff - January 15, 2025

Lightweight Muay Thai star Sinsamut Klinmee is ready to get back to business, and he’s looking to kick the year off in style at ONE 170.

“Aquaman” meets divisional dark horse Nauzet Trujillo on Friday, January 24, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Impact Arena.

The last 12 months were far from smooth sailing for Sinsamut. The Thai standout suffered consecutive defeats to Dmitry Menshikov and Youssef Assouik in 2024. But he’s hungry to put those losses behind him.

So when he steps foot back into the Circle next week at ONE 170, Sinsamut will be humble enough to recognize the lofty challenge that awaits him.

Trujillo has emerged as a dark horse in the division. Having dispatched Britain’s Liam Nolan last time around, the Spaniard will look to take advantage of Sinsamut’s recent run. So that’s why “Aquaman” views next Friday’s clash as a huge contest.

“Only two more weeks,” Sinsamut said on Instagram.

“Please cheer and encourage me at Impact Arena. This battle is very big.”

Sinsamut eager to get back into World Title picture at ONE 170

Lightweight Muay Thai stalwart Sinsamut Klinmee isn’t done with his dream of becoming a ONE World Champion.

A two-time World Title challenger in the division, “Aquaman” has battled the best of the best. But he finds himself on the outside following two losses in a row.

Putting the setbacks behind him, the Thai striker is focused on turning things around in the year to come. And that begins with Nauzet Trujillo at ONE 170 next Friday, January 24.

The striking standout has previously shown what he’s capable of. At ONE Friday Fights 24 in 2023, his fire burned bright with a statement-making knockout of Victor Teixeira in the second round.

Granted, Trujillo is also on the rise. So it’ll be far from easy. But if the same flame has been reignited that was on show versus Teixeira, the lightweight Muay Thai division may be in for a rude awakening next week.
