Stamp Fairtex has a clear vision for life after fighting

She has walked out to K-pop routines, changed her hair colour more times than she can count, and recently left a shopping mall encounter in a state of genuine embarrassment. Between title reigns, the former three-sport ONE World Champion turns out to be a woman with a lot of thoughts about fashion.

Stamp Fairtex returns to atomweight Muay Thai action against Cynthia Flores at The Inner Circle 20, streaming live for members in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, June 26. Ahead of her return, she spoke openly about the fashion interests that fill her life away from competition.

The 28-year-old Thai megastar admits that following trends is a full-time pursuit and her wardrobe reflects it. Hair colour rotates with the season. Clothing changes constantly. The closet, Stamp says, is a situation.

“You should see what I wear on a regular day just to go grab some food! But yeah, when it comes to my hair color, it really depends on what’s trending at the time,” she said.

“As for my clothing style, it’s constantly changing. Honestly, my closet is completely overflowing right now. So yeah, I definitely care about it. Like the saying goes, ‘Fine feathers make fine birds’ – clothes make the person!”

Stamp Fairtex opens up on life after fighting

Stamp Fairtex is clear about what she wants when her competitive days are behind her. The options her fame has opened up, including modelling and fashion, are interesting diversions. But none of them pull harder than the gym.

Stamp has already tested the runway once, stepping into a world of professional models that left her feeling completely out of her element. The memory still makes her laugh, as does the morning she ran into a Thai celebrity while wearing her pyjamas at Terminal 21.

For all the fun she finds in fashion, she has no intention of letting it replace sport when the time comes.

“I’d probably become a sniper shooting inside a barrel! Jokes aside, I think even after I retire from fighting, I’ll still be involved in sports,” she said.

“I don’t see myself going down the pure fashion or beauty route. Honestly, I can barely even do my own makeup! So I’ll definitely stick with sports. I’ll probably open my own gym, do some coaching, and things like that.”
