Max Holloway calls to fight Conor McGregor at the White House after UFC 326

Max Holloway is hoping to run things back with Conor McGregor.
Holloway is set to defend his BMF belt on March 7 against Charles Oliveira in an intriguing bout. Should Holloway win, he could be right in the mix for a title shot at lightweight. But he’s looking at another fight.
The Hawaiian knows Ilia Topuria has to face Justin Gaethje next. So, Holloway said he’s interested in fighting Conor McGregor at the White House event.
“The belt is definitely the goal, but I also have the BMF title, which I’m super proud of, and it opens up a lot of really interesting fights,” Holloway said to Stake. “Then we have a certain Conor McGregor wanting to make his return to the cage. You know, I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t take that fight. It’s Conor McGregor man. You have to take that fight.
“We obviously have our history, and I think it would be great at The White House. Another one I had history with is Khabib. You know, he’s retired, but I feel like Islam is part of that team, and I’d like a shot at Islam as well. I think we’re in a really great position with some exciting fights ahead.”
McGregor has been campaigning to return, but given the Irishman hasn’t fought in five years, whether or not he will fight again is to be seen. If he does, Holloway wants to be his return opponent on the White House lawn.
Max Holloway wants big fights after UFC 326
Although Holloway wants to face McGregor, he said the goal is to get big fights.
Holloway knows he’s a big name in the sport and believes he could get a title shot with a win over Oliveira at UFC 326.
“You never know with the UFC, but if you keep winning and winning in style, it’s hard to deny,” Holloway said. “I know that the fans like to watch me fight. And if I go out there and put on another show-stopping moment, another UFC 300 moment, big things are coming.
Holloway is coming off a decision win over Dustin Poirier to defend his BMF belt.
