When Mark Hunt next steps into the Octagon, he’s going to look a little different than we’re used to. The fan favorite UFC heavyweight has plastered his chest with a massive – and may we say beautifully done – tattoo. This tattoo, which was done by Chris Mata’afa of Monarch Tattoo Studio in Australia, depicts a trio of skulls in samurai armor. Hunt shared a photo of this new piece to his official Instagram page.

This tattoo joins two half-sleeves on Hunt’s arms.
Hunt will next step onto the canvas on June 10, in the main event of the UFC’s return to Auckland, New Zealand. His opponent in this main event heavyweight battle will be the streaking Derek “The Black Beast” Lewis.
When we last saw Hunt in action, he succumbed to a third-round, knee-induced knockout dealt by Alistair Overeem. In his most recent bout before this, he gave up a decision to the returning Brock Lesnar – though this result was overturned when Lesnar tested positive for the banned substance clomiphene.
Prior to his disastrous encounter with Lesnar, Hunt scored back-to-back knockouts over Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Frank Mir. The heavyweight veteran is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Lesnar, the UFC, and UFC President Dana White – all stemming from Lesnar’s failed drug test.
Lewis, on the other hand, will step onto the canvas in New Zealand on a six-fight streak. In his last bout, he weathered and early bit of adversity to hammer Travis Browne to a second round-TKO. In his five most recent bouts before this, he defeated Viktor Pesta, Damian Grabowski, Gabriel Gonzaga, Roy Nelson and Shamil Abdurakhimov. Only Nelson survived a full three rounds with the hulking American.
What do you think of Mark Hunt’s new chest tattoo? Do you think he’ll win his next fight against Derrick Lewis? Sound off, PENN Nation!
