UFC Vegas 113 Results: Mario Bautista stops Vinicius Oliveira (Video)

Bautista (17-3 MMA) will enter this evening’s main event looking to rebound, this after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Umar Nurmagomedov in his most previous Octagon appearance this past October at UFC 321. Prior to that setback, the 32-year-old had strung together an impressive eight-fight winning streak, a stretch which included victories over Jose Aldo, Ricky Simon and Patchy Mix.
Meanwhile, Vinicius Oliveira (23-4 MMA) currently boasts a six-fight winning streak, with his most recent triumph coming over Kyler Phillips this past July at UFC 318. ‘Lok Dog’ has scored stoppage wins in three of his past six fights overall.

Round one of the UFC Vegas 113 headliner begins and Vinicius Oliveira comes forward with a front kick to the body. Mario Bautista circles to his right and then lands a nice body kick. ‘Lok Dog’ with a hard low kick. Bautista leaps in with a 1-2. Oliveira forces the clinch and pushes Mario against the cage. Bautista eventually breaks free and circles back to range. Vinicius Oliveira with a takedown attempt. Mario Bautista sweeps him, but the fighters end up back on their feet. Oliveira looking for a single leg against the fence. Mario doing a good job of defending. He drops for a single leg of his own and after some hard work, he gets the fight to the floor. Vinicius looks for a leg lock. Bautista avoids the submission and proceeds to take full guard position on the ground. Just under 90-seconds for Mario to work. He postures up and lands a right hand. He leaps in with another, but it only partially connects. Vinicius Oliveira with a butterfly guard now. Bautista continues to chip away with some short body shots. He stands up and lands a big right hand to the ribs of Oliveira. Another body shot from Mario. The horn sounds to end the opening round.
Round two of the UFC Vegas 113 headliner begins and Vinicius Oliveira lands a nice outside low kick to get things started. He lands another and then leaps in with a wild punch. Mario Bautista ducks under that shot and is able to secure a takedown. Oliveira quickly scrambles up to his feet only to be thrown down again. He scrambles up again. Bautista takes his back and then slams him back down to the floor. ‘Lok Dog’ once again is quick to get back to his feet and this time he gets free and back to range. A nice counter left from Vinicius Oliveira. He looks a bit tired already. Mario Bautista seems to sense it and comes in with a 1-2. He just misses with a big right over the top. Bautista secures a takedown and begins working some decent ground and pound. 90-seconds remain in the second round. Some good elbows from Mario. He traps an arm and lands some more hard shots. He switches to a kimura and then moves to the back of Oliveira and locks in a rear-naked choke. This is tight. Oliveira taps and this one is all over! WOW!
