King Green calls for blockbuster fight at UFC White House following recent victory

UFC veteran King Green has called for a major fight at the UFC White House event in the wake of his win over Daniel Zellhuber.

When you talk about entertaining veterans in mixed martial arts, King Green is up there with the best of them. Regardless of who they put him in the cage with, he goes out there and fights his own style, and more often than not, he’s able to win over a fair few of his critics by turning back the clock and proving that he belongs in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Last weekend, Green made it two wins in a row when he knocked out Daniel Zellhuber in the second round at UFC Mexico City. He once again showed that even if you write him off, he’s going to put forward the kind of passion and effort that we have all come to expect from him.

In an appearance on the post-show, Green decided to call for a big fight against Michael Chandler later this year.

Green wants to collide with Chandler

“I don’t really call people out, but if I was to call somebody out, I would say Michael Chandler in the White House,” Green told Charly Arnolt on the UFC Fight Night 268 post-fight show. “Two great Americans. American badass kickin’.”

“This is what I do – I’m a professional,” Green said. “I get the work done. I’m 39. They say I’m getting old, but I make it look easy.”

Regardless of whether or not you’re a big fan of his work, there’s no denying that King Green’s longevity in the sport deserves to be respected in a big way.
