Lone’er Kavanagh sets UFC title timeline following huge win over Brandon Moreno

UFC flyweight Lone’er Kavanagh has set a timeline for himself to become a world champion after his win over Brandon Moreno.
Last Saturday night, Lone’er Kavanagh pulled off the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career to date. He was able to get the best of Brandon Moreno, a former two-time UFC flyweight champion, and he did so fairly comprehensively with a decision triumph in Moreno’s home country of Mexico.

Now, many are wondering what exactly is going to be next for Kavanagh in his career. He certainly has the potential to compete against the best that the division has to offer, but things haven’t been this stacked at 125 pounds in quite a long time.
In an interview after the event, Kavanagh had the following to say about his long-term ambitions in the sport.
“Believe in yourself, believe in the people behind you, and let the rest write itself”

“I can’t put into words what I’m feeling right now,” Kavanagh told UFC.com backstage. “I’m grateful to God, grateful to my team, grateful to the UFC. I’m blessed.”
“Sometimes you just have to say f*ck the fear and do it,” Kavanagh said. “Believe in yourself, believe in the people behind you and let the rest write itself.”
“With Brandon, you have to stay switched on the whole time,” Kavanagh said. “He’s dangerous. He’s a tough person. So I had to stay switched on the whole time, even toward the end. I had to double check. I’m very critical about myself and I’m very grateful.”
“I want to become champ within the first two years of being in the UFC, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there.”
