Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been training hard for his return to the Octagon. Jones was suspended last year from the UFC and stripped of his championship title for legal issues involving a hit-and-run accident in Albuquerque, New Mexico back in 2015. Jones has since been reinstated by the UFC and is expected to take on the current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. This will be the second time Jones and Cormier will meet in the Octagon. Jones defeated Cormier back at UFC 182, which took place on January 2, 2015. The rematch will be Jones’ first fight back in the UFC and Cormier will get his chance to avenge his loss and keep the light heavyweight title.

Earlier this month news broke that Jon Jones younger brother Chandler, who is a New England Patriots Defensive End, was hospitalized after reportedly smoking synthetic marijuana. Chandler was released from the hospital, and according to Jon, is thankfully doing pretty well.

In on of his posts from Thursday, Jones said that he was “225-pounds 12 weeks out.”

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was closely watching the UFC Fight Night 81 event on Sunday night. Jones who has been out of competition after being suspended and stripped of his title for legal troubles back in 2015 is looking at the new bantamweight champion for inspiration in his own return to the Octagon. Dominick Cruz who has battled injuries has only fought three times in the Octagon in the past four years. His title fight on Sunday against T.J. Dillashaw was his first fight since his win over Takeya Mizugaki, which took place in September 2014.

On Wednesday, reports were circulating of NFL star Chandler Jones being hospitalized for overdosing on pills. After more information has come to light on the younger brother of former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, it appears it was synthetic marijuana that caused the defensive end for the New England Patriots to be hospitalized on Sunday. The Boston Globe reported that Jones had a reaction after using synthetic marijuana causing him to be “confused.” Jones went to a police station near his home in seek of help and was admitted to the hospital for a “medical emergency.”
