Disturbing details surrounding Jairzinho Rozenstruik arrest
According to a police report obtained by MMA Fighting, officers responded to a call and ultimately found what they called “a domestic battery incident,” allegedly involving Rozenstruik and his partner. The woman alleges he slapped her, knocking her phone out of her hand, while they were driving to a storage unit. She claims he then hit her again, and grabbed her arm to stop her from leaving the vehicle. She alleges that she punched the UFC heavyweight in self defense at several points during the incident, and that “he allegedly actually and intentionally bit her right bicep against her will.” According to the police report, she had a visible bite mark in the area she described.
Rozenstruik was “uncooperative during the investigation and had changed his account of the incident multiple times and withheld information regarding the incident. Multiple attempts were needed for Jairzinho to give his account of the incident,” the report said.
“Due to the above factors and the totality of the circumstances, probable cause that Jairzinho was the primary aggressor during this incident and committed the alleged crime was established,“ the report concluded.
Rozenstruik spent six years as a member of the UFC roster. For a time, he was one of the top heavyweights in the promotion. During his time on the roster, he took on the likes of Francis Ngannou, Junior dos Santos, and Alistair Overeem, beating the latter two.
