Ilia Topuria shares cold message for U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of UFC Freedom 250 headliner

UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria sent a message to U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of his headlining fight at the White House.

One of the biggest fights of the year is weeks away from coming to fruition as Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje are set to square off in the UFC Freedom 250 main event. The unprecedented card on the White House lawn is expected to deliver fireworks, featuring a lightweight title unification bout between Topuria and Gaethje.

This will mark Topuria’s first undisputed lightweight title defense after winning the then-vacant title last year in a brutal knockout of Charles Oliveira. Amidst Topuria’s recent hiatus due to personal issues, Gaethje won the interim title by outpointing Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324.

Topuria and Gaethje are two of the most dynamic finishers in UFC history, and a quick result could come to fruition at UFC Freedom 250. Ahead of the card, Topuria sent a cold message to U.S. President Donald Trump, who will sit Octagonside as their fight plays out on the White House lawn.

In a recent interview with El Partidazo de COPE, Topuria was asked to share a message for the U.S. President ahead of fight night.

“Trump, what he has to do? Don’t blink, and come with your hair neatly combed,” Topuria said.

“Because it’s going to be quick.”

Topuria has every reason to feel supremely confident ahead of his fight with Gaethje. The reigning undisputed lightweight champion enters UFC Freedom 250 off of arguably the greatest three-fight period by a fighter in UFC history, with knockouts of Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway, and Oliveira.

On the other hand, Gaethje is fighting for an evasive mark on his legendary resume and an undisputed UFC championship. The reigning interim titleholder will fight for the undisputed lightweight belt for the third time in his career after past losses to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Oliveira.

In either case, expect chaos to unfold when Topuria and Gaethje enter the Octagon this summer.
