Dana White voices optimism over Conor McGregor returning to the UFC

UFC boss Dana White has given a positive update on the fighting future of former two-weight world champion Conor McGregor.
For the longest time now, Conor McGregor has been pretty invested in the idea of a return to competitive mixed martial arts – or at least that’s how it seems based on his social media activity. However, there has been no official announcement from the UFC regarding when it’s going to happen.
McGregor has always been one of the most intriguing fighters to follow in terms of fight announcements, mainly because he is easily one of the biggest stars in combat sports, and that has been the case for well over a decade now.
In a recent update after UFC Seattle, White had the following to say on getting a deal over the line with McGregor.
White discusses McGregor’s UFC return
“Possibly,” UFC CEO Dana White said about nearing a deal for McGregor’s return at the UFC Seattle post-fight press conference. “Nothing’s done. Nothing’s even remotely close to being done. Yes [we’d like him to fight in July].”
“I was pretty optimistic at the end of last year [that Conor was going to fight again],” White said. “End of last year, going into this year, I’m still confident.”

There’s no clear sign as to who Conor will face, but the likes of Max Holloway and Jorge Masvidal have been floated as ideas, both of which would be absolutely huge.
