One fighting star has taken notice of another, although they compete in two different sports. During an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN, boxing superstar Tyson Fury was asked about his thoughts on former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor and the “Gypsy King” had plenty of praise for “The Notorious”. Helwani asked Fury what his thoughts were on McGregor and included some of the recent trouble McGregor has found himself in, and Fury not only called McGregor a game-changer, but said it’s more about what lessons Conor McGregor learns from his mistakes.

The alleged baby mother of Conor McGregor takes aim at the UFC fighter on Instagram. Terri Murray, a 26-year-old mom from Liverpool claims she slept with McGregor during a night out after the Grand National event in 2017.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov looks more and more like an unbeatable fighter every time he steps into the cage. The Dagestani champion is 27-0 overall — the mark of a puzzle that has not yet been solved. While it’s getting more and more difficult to imagine anybody beating Nurmagomedov, his head coach Javier Mendez believes there are fighters out there with the skills to test the champ — four lightweight fighters in particular.

Last night, the UFC returned to our screens with the UFC Rochester card. In the main event of this card, former UFC lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos defeated Kevin Lee by submission— and as is so often the case, long-absent star Conor McGregor had something to say about it on Twitter. Conor McGregor was briefly scheduled to fight Rafael dos Anjos in 2016. At the time, the Irishman was the UFC featherweight champion, and dos Anjos still held the lightweight title. Unfortunately, dos Anjos was forced out of their planned contest with a foot injury at the last minute. McGregor then accepted a short-notice fight with Nate Diaz — and lost — kickstarting his wild rivalry with Stockton based fighter.

Kevin Lee is moving up to welterweight to take on the former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in the main event of UFC Rochester this Saturday. Although “The Motown Phenom” is moving up in weight he is not done for good in the lightweight division. Instead, he has hopes of fighting a few lightweights in particular before his career is over.

Conor McGregor doesn’t currently have a fight booked, but if the former two-division UFC champ decides to return to the Octagon, his long-time coach John Kavanagh will coach and corner him. The other long-term members of McGregor’s inner circle will also apparently be there to pitch in. “I don’t think [me cornering Conor] is in doubt,” Kavanagh told the Irish Mirror of a McGregor comeback. “I’m sure I’ll be there, we talk almost daily.

With Khabib Nurmagomedov, Dustin Poirier, Donald Cerrone, Tony Ferguson, Nate Diaz and Max Holloway all currently booked, there aren’t a lot of viable opponents left for former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ Conor McGregor. One option that is still available, however, is former World Series of Fighting lightweight king Justin Gaethje. While a the idea of a McGregor vs. Justin Gaethje fight is likely to excite many fans, Gaethje’s manager Ali Abdelaziz does not believe the fight would be competitive. He believes his client would dominate the Irishman, and used all kinds of creative metaphors to describe the color of McGregor’s flesh after a potential meeting with Gaethje.

Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis is expected to return to the Octagon at UFC 241, where he’ll take on a big name in Nate Diaz. From the sounds of it, however, Pettis was first offered the chance to fight the biggest name in MMA: Conor McGregor. Pettis dropped this bit of information on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday.

Conor McGregor is no longer facing criminal charges in the state of Florida. Earlier this year, the Irish star found himself in hot water after allegedly smashing the cell phone of 22-year-old fan Ahmed Abdirzak. Roughly a month ago, however, Abdirzak withdrew his charges against McGregor, which implied that a settlement had been reached behind the scenes.

Despite his ostensible retirement from MMA, there is now reason to believe Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon after all. UFC President Dana White will soon be meeting with McGregor, and he believes he can coax the Irish star back to the cage — potentially as soon as this summer. Yet with Khabib Nurmagomedov expected to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 242, and Donald Cerrone potentially fighting Tony Ferguson at UFC 238, many of most compelling opponents for Conor McGregor are currently tied up. So, if he does return to action, who might he fight?

Ever since Donald Cerrone defeated Al Iaquinta in the UFC Ottawa main event last weekend, there’s been renewed interest in a lightweight firefight between the fan favorite gunslinger and former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor. While this Cerrone vs. McGregor fight is still purely hypothetical, the Cerrone side of things is working hard to change that.

Earlier this week, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor made some scathing comments about a number of the top Russian fighters on the UFC roster, namely Zubaira Tukhugov, Islam Makhachev, and Mairbek Taisumov. It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from former Bellator boss Bjorn Rebney. He’s been quiet ever since it was announced he’d be working with the seemingly defunct Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association (MMAAA) in 2016. Apparently, however, the former Bellator chief has been in contact with former Bellator welterweight champ Ben Askren, who is now making waves in the UFC welterweight division.  Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday, Askren divulged that he received a message from Rebney shortly after he submitted Robbie Lawler in his first UFC bout.

During a recent appearance on the Jim Rome Show, UFC President Dana White said that he has plans to meet with Conor McGregor within a week. “He and I are getting together very soon, within the next week, and we’re going to figure out what’s next for him” White said. “I see him fighting this summer”.
