His efforts paid off in November, winning the Presidency by defeating then-Vice President Kamala Harris to become the first man since Grover Cleveland to win a second non-consecutive term.

The bout took place just a few months after ‘The Diamond’ handed the Irishman a knockout loss, and the former UFC champion was eager to get his revenge.

Ending a two-year layoff, Michael Chandler was handed a second loss by ‘Do Bronx’, this time by unanimous decision. The defeat was a brutal one for the former Bellator star, who famously sat on the sidelines for years trying to secure a fight with Conor McGregor.

Controversial UFC star Conor McGregor is set to file an official appeal over the verdict in his sexual assault civil case. Last year, Conor McGregor was taken to civil court by Nikita Hand, a woman who accused him of sexual assault. She won her claim for damages, with a jury finding that he did, in fact, assault her in a Dublin hotel back in December 2018. He was then ordered to pay her more than €248,000 in damages. In addition, he was ordered to pay the costs of her taking the civil action against him.

The “Notorious” one has made some bold claims, even vowing to compete under the BKFC banner some day. While many believe it’s far-fetched to think that the Irishman will ever knuckle up, perhaps “The Last Emperor” is more likely to throw down in BKFC.

Ahead of Hughes’ big Bellator lightweight title fight against Usman Nurmagomedov, McGregor showed his support for “Big News.” Hughes even offered McGregor to serve as a cornerman for the fight, but it didn’t materialize. Hughes ended up putting forth an elite effort that just barely fell short of a world title. He lost the highly competitive championship bout via majority decision.

It’s not exactly a secret that ‘The Maverick’ and ‘The Notorious’ were in discussions to fight later this year. Just a few weeks after Conor McGregor was found liable for sexually assaulting a woman in 2018, he revealed plans for an exhibition boxing match with Logan Paul. Reports later confirmed talks between the two, for an April bout in India that would net each man upwards of $250 million.

An injury derailed that plan, and fans have since been wondering if the Irishman will ever return to prizefighting.

Despite the fact that Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor in their UFC 229 clash, the “Notorious” one continues to blast Khabib and his team.

His actions have been erratic, to say the least, in the wake of him losing his civil sexual assault case. In the eyes of the public, the general public opinion towards him has certainly shifted in an unfavourable way.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has sided with PFL prospect Paul Hughes in his war against Conor McGregor. ‘Big News’ returned to the octagon in the main event of PFL Champions Series 1 last Saturday. In the main event of the Dubai-based card, Paul Hughes met Usman Nurmagomedov. The event heavily played into the Dagestan vs. Ireland rivalry, given the champion’s relation to former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
