Conor McGregor is anticipating a violent and decisive triumph when he steps into the cage with Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229 this Saturday. Although the Irish soothsayer ‘Mystic Mac’ did not pick a specific round as he has in the past, he is confidently predicting the knockout, and from the sounds of it, he’s expecting it to happen early. “Devastating KO,” a fired up Conor McGregor told the crowd at Wednesday’s open workouts (transcript via MMA Fighting). “[He’s] too easy to hit, too flat-footed, too predictable. I’m gonna knock him clean out.”

At the UFC 229 pre-fight press conference, which went down late last month in New York City, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor seemed to have a rather nasty looking wound on his finger. Unsurprisingly, many fans began to speculate that McGregor could be dealing with a staph infection or some other issue. Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday, Conor McGregor explained that this injury was no cause for concern. It’s simply a small wound that he sustained when one of his sparring partner’s teeth got “embedded” in his finger.

Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor might be known for his ceaseless trash-talk and his bravado, but the Irish MMA star has a definite soft spot. Not only has McGregor made several, quiet donations to a children’s hospital in his native Crumlin, Dublin, Ireland, but he now also seems to have made a whopping €10,000 donation to the treatment of a sick Irish boy named Bryan. Conor McGregor’s massive donation, which works out to roughly $11,580, was announced on Twitter by his mother, who has organized a GoFundMe for her son.
