Dana White reveals more details on his relationship with Conor McGregor

The world of MMA is in absolute disarray after UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor stated on Tuesday that he has “decided to retire young.” The madness grew after the UFC announced that McGregor was pulled from the UFC 200 headline fight against Nate Diaz.

On Wednesday, UFC President Dana White appeared on “The Herd” to address more of the issues surrounding McGregor and UFC 200.

White gave McGregor the option to call him to square everything away and continue on with the scheduled fight at UFC 200. Despite many rumors floating around that the underlying issue is about money, White insists that it is due to Conor not participating in scheduled mandatory media events, which included one that was supposed to take place this weekend.

While everyone assumes the UFC is stressing, they are getting a ton of attention with all the events transpiring. Ariel Helwani quoted White saying, “I’m not mad at Conor. Conor made a decision and a choice to not fight on this card. That’s on him, man.” White said that “Never, ever was this about money” and that UFC 200 will roll on with or without Conor McGregor.

White added that all negotiations regarding the media obligations took place with McGregor’s manager, and nothing ever got hostile between the two parties.

“Conor delivers. But he wasn’t planning on delivering this weekend, and I had to pull him. It’s what had to be done,” White said in closing.
