UFC legend Charles Oliveira has discussed wanting his father to put the belt around his waist if he wins at UFC 326.

At UFC 326, Charles Oliveira will go head to head with Max Holloway in a huge clash for the BMF title. It will take place in the main event of the evening, and while both men have lost to Ilia Topuria recently, they will both be hoping to vault themselves back into world championship contention at lightweight with a win here.

At the same time, the BMF title itself is a real symbol for a lot of people regarding who the ‘baddest’ fighters in mixed martial arts really are. Oliveira has certainly picked up his fair share of finishes over the years, although in his previous outing against Max Holloway over ten years ago, he fell to an early defeat.

In a recent interview, Oliveira revealed who he wants to be the one to wrap the BMF title around his waist if that time comes.

Oliveira talks about UFC 326 plans

“My father,” Oliveira told MMA Junkie through an interpreter on Tuesday. “The reality is if my father and my mother hadn’t believed in me and supported me, none of this would’ve ever happened. None of this would be possible. I wouldn’t be here. Having my father put the belt on me, that would be amazing.”

“It’s definitely huge,” Oliveira said. “It’s one more thing that I can add to my legacy. It’s one more achievement. It’s great.”

“I think that last fight I made a statement, I sent a message to everyone in the division,” Oliveira said. “The lion is still hungry and I definitely think I’m going to make another run for it and I’m going to become a champion.”
