Bruce Buffer shuts down Jim Miller’s request for unique introduction at UFC 300: “I don’t like cursing in my job”

Bruce Buffer won’t be announcing Jim Miller with a unique introduction at UFC 300.

Miller has competed at both UFC 100 and 200 and got his wish of fighting at UFC 300 as he will take on Bobby Green. Ahead of the fight, Miller asked Buffer if he could announce him a ‘Jim F*****g Miller’.

“I don’t know if Bruce [Buffer] will introduce me as Jim ‘F*****g’ Miller,” Miller said after UFC Vegas 84. “I don’t know if he swears when he’s working. He definitely swears when he’s not. I think it would be cool. I think it would be cool to maybe open the pay-per-view with that. I think doing that in front of the T-Mobile full of fans would be awesome. I think that would get me super fired up.

“I earned that nickname. I earned that nickname by the way I do business inside the octagon and even outside. I earned that nickname from a guy that was matchmaking at UFC 2. When Joe Silva calls you that, it’s pretty cool. I’m glad that the fans are behind it. It’s not the easiest nickname to promote, but it’s there,” Miller continued.

Immediately, many fans and fighters loved the idea and hoped Bruce Buffer would introduce Jim Miller as ‘Jim F*****g Miller.’ However, speaking on The Schmozone Podcast on ESPN Radio, the voice of the Octagon shut down Miller’s request.

“I don’t like cursing in my job,” Buffer said on The Schmozone. “I respect Jim’s wishes. At this point, the answer is no. I’d go for Jim ‘Friggin’ Miller, maybe.”

Understandably, Bruce Buffer doesn’t want to swear while he is working, but many fans were hoping he would accommodate Jim Miller’s request.

However, on The Schmozone’s Instagram post, UFC commentator Jon Anik says he may announce Miller as that at the official weigh-ins for UFC 300.

“@jimmiller_155 There is always the official weigh-in,” Anik wrote.

Although Jim Miller won’t be getting introduced as ‘Jim F****g Miller’ at UFC 300, he still gets his wish of competing on the card and faces a ranked opponent.

Miller is currently 37-17 and one No Contest and coming off a submission win over Gabriel Benitez. Before that, he scored a 23-second KO over Jesse Butler to return to the win column after a decision loss to Alexander Hernandez.
