The fight was a rather controversial one, with Bisping losing his mouthguard midway through the fight. When Bisping went to retrieve his mouthguard from referee Herb Dean, Silva took advantage of the situation and landed a flying knee at the bell that dropped Bisping. While The Spider initially thought that the fight had ended, it hadn’t, and Bisping went on to win the fight via unanimous decision, earning him a shot at the middleweight title.

Former UFC middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva was supposed to fight Uriah Hall at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil last month, however ‘The Spider’ was forced to undergo surgery to remove his gallbladder the week of the fight. Silva set his sights on a return to the Octagon at UFC 200, hoping to avenge his loss to Michael Bisping earlier this year. Chael Sonnen initially reported that Silva vs. Hall had been rebooked for UFC 200, however that is no longer the case.

While Silva has intentions of fighting at UFC 200, there has so far been no word yet on whether or not he will be able to fight on the card.

Unfortunately for Silva, the week of the fight, he was experiencing gallbladder pain which was later diagnosed as an inflammation of his gallbladder. Silva was taken to the hospital, and had his gallbladder removed on Wednesday. Fortunately for ‘The Spider’ the recovery time is expected to be 4-6 weeks, giving him just enough time to prepare for a fight at UFC 200.

Tuesday night tragic news surfaced that Anderson Silva had been rushed to the hospital after falling ill. Unfortunately for the former middleweight champion, he was forced to withdraw from his UFC 198 bout with Uriah Hall this weekend due to gallbladder issues. On Wednesday, Silva underwent surgery to have his gallbladder removed, and was comfortably resting at the hospital with hopes of being released on Friday.
