Ronda Rousey social media post suggest a return to the Octagon?

By Russell Ess - February 27, 2017

We have not heard much from Ronda Rousey following her devastating loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December.

It was the second time Rousey lost in her professional mixed martial arts career, coming just a little over a year since her first loss to Holly Holm, which took place at UFC 193 in November 2015. Now on a two-fighting losing streak after initially going on a 12-0 run that saw her annihilate all of her competition, the world is waiting to hear what will be the next step for the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

UFC President Dana White has a close relationship with Rousey and said that the choice is ultimately hers on her fighting career but didn’t think that she would choose to compete in the Octagon again.

“In the conversation I had with her, if I had to say right here right now – again I don’t like saying right here right now because it’s up to her – but I wouldn’t say she fights again,” White said in January on the UFC Unfiltered podcast. “I think she’s probably done.”

“She’s going to ride off into the sunset and start living her life outside of fighting,” White added.

However, a social media post from Rousey that was posted on Sunday seems to suggest otherwise. Rousey’s post was a meme with a big ship sailing on the ocean that said, “A ship in the harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are for.”
