As MMA fans we have a great appreciation for the fighters that put everything on the line to entertain us, while pursuing their dreams of a world championship. Often the masterminds behind the brilliance of our favorite fighters, the coaches, are not given as much credit as they deserve.

This year, ‘Jackson-Wink MMA’ coach Mike Winkeljohn has been nominated for ‘Coach of the Year’ in reflection of his dedication to the sport, and the success of the fighters he trains.

Winkeljohn has coached numerous elite level fighters such as Jon Jones, Holly Holm, Carlos Condit, Andrei Arlovski, and Jon Dodson to name just a few.

In 2015 several of the fighters Coach Winkeljohn trains had remarkable moments including Jon Jones’ grudge match win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 and Holly Holm’s spectacular KO win over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193.
