Gina Carano and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will square off in one of the biggest fights in women’s MMA history on May 16th. The fight came together 17 years after Carano’s last bout, and a full decade since Rousey’s last appearance in the Octagon against Amanda Nunes.

The pre-fight buildup for Ronda Rousey’s return to the cage against women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano is underway, and their first press conference on Tuesday didn’t disappoint. Rousey and Carano, along with former UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou and his upcoming opponent Philipe Lins, appeared in front of fans and media to build up the highly-anticipated event.

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman believes Justin Gaethje is getting overlooked ahead of UFC White House. Gaethje is set to headline the White House card on June 14 as he takes on Ilia Topuria for the lightweight title. Heading into the fight, Gaethje is a massive +350 underdog, while the champ is a -520 favorite on FanDuel. The oddsmakers and many fans believe Topuria will walk through Gaethje, but Usman thinks that’s disrespectful, and people can’t overlook the interim champ.

Reinier de Ridder will be making quite the change after falling short in his recent UFC 326 outing. This past Saturday, de Ridder shared the Octagon with Caio Borralho inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It was a chance for the former two-division ONE Championship titleholder to rebound from his corner stoppage loss against Brendan Allen. After three rounds of action, de Ridder was defeated by Borralho via unanimous decision.

Rousey is set for a comeback fight against Gina Carano on May 16, but the bout will not be taking place under the UFC banner. Instead, the bout will headline a card on Netflix that is being promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.

At UFC Freedom 250, also known as the White House card, Justin Gaethje will challenge Ilia Topuria for the UFC lightweight championship. It will serve as a unification bout with ‘The Highlight’ holding the interim strap courtesy of his huge win over Paddy Pimblett at the start of the year.

UFC legend Israel Adesanya has given his thoughts on Alex Pereira’s upcoming bid to win a third weight class world title. At UFC Freedom 250, Alex Pereira will attempt to become the first fighter in UFC history to win a world championship in three weight classes. Granted, it will be an interim belt, but it would also set him up for an absolutely huge unification showdown with Tom Aspinall at some point later this year (or early 2027).

Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones’ biggest rival, expressed sympathy for the former UFC heavyweight champ after he called for his release. Jon Jones wants out of the UFC following CEO Dana White’s recent remarks at the UFC 326 post-fight press conference. After announcing the full lineup for UFC Freedom 250 at the White House in June, White dismissed the narrative that Jones was close to fighting on the card, falling Jones’ claims that he was in talks with the promotion ‘b——‘.

Gillian Robertson is looking to make a statement at UFC Vegas 114. Robertson is set to take on Amanda Lemos in the co-main event in a pivotal fight at strawweight. The two were supposed to fight back in December, but on the day of the event, Lemos was pulled from the bout, and the UFC immediately got to work on rebooking the two.

There remains no love between UFC featherweights Jean Silva and Bryce Mitchell ahead of their rematch on the grappling mats. UFC 314 last year, headlined by a vacant featherweight title bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes, was one of the biggest UFC events of 2025. The bout featured action from top-to-bottom, and ended with Volkanovski reclaiming the UFC featherweight title after suffering through his first losing skid.

After Jones wasn’t on the White House card, and Dana White claimed it’s due to his bad hips, ‘Bones’ asked for his release. Jones reportedly wants a big payday, and the UFC wasn’t interested in giving it to him.
