Bellator 141 Results: Marloes Coenen Submits Blencowe In Round 2
In round one, it was clearly Coenen who came on top when the round was finished. She managed to get the fight down early and from there took the back of Blencowe. She used a body triangle to hold position for most of the round. So, round one, all Coenen, simply because Blencowe had no answer for the relentless control from the featherweight vet.
In round two Blencowe actually managed to land some nice shots on the feet. But that didn’t last long as Coenne shot in and got the fight back to the ground. Almost immediately she went for the armbar.
She managed to lock it up tight and really from there Blencowe had no choice but to tap out.
Pretty impressive win for the #2 featherweight in the world.
Unfortunately, it’s really unclear what Bellator is trying to do with their women’s divisions right now.
RESULT: Coenen wins via submission (armbar) at 3:23 of round 2
