While at the UFC Gym Huntington Beach grand opening, UFC Gym President Adam Sedlack went on camera to discuss the importance of staying active as you age. His only error was using former Pride champion and long-time UFC contender Dan Henderson as an example. Mid-way through his comments, Sedlack was interrupted by a jarring Henderson overhand – the legendary “H-Bomb” – which sent him careening to the mat.

While this punch was obviously all in good fun, Sedlack says it gave him newfound respect for the 46 year old Henderson.

“I have huge respect for Dan, but when I saw him slowly walking throughout the gym it looked like he lost a few steps. I never saw that overhand strike coming. I now have an entirely different respect for Mr. Henderson – he definitely trains different.”

Henderson was last seen in the cage in October, when he gave up an extremely controversial split decision to Michael Bisping, failing to claim UFC middleweight gold as a result. This fight went down as the last of his legendary career.

Over the course of his Hall of Fame worthy career, Henderson defeated the likes of Carlos Newton, Gilbert Yvel, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Renato “Babalu” Sobral (twice), Renzo Gracie, Murilo Bustamante (twice), Akihiro Gono, Vitor Belfort, Wanderlei Silva, Rousimar Palhares, Rich Franklin, Michael Bisping, Fedor Emelianenko, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (twice), Tim Boetsch and Hector Lombard.

How do you think it feels to be hit by Dan Henderson’s H-bomb?
