Tyron Woodley was thought by some to have a shot at the welterweight title. An Irishman with a taste for gold belts might step into Woodley’s division with a win against Rafael dos Anjos next month for the lightweight title.
Woodley may not mind McGregor jumping ahead of him to fight at UFC 200 to be a potential three division champ as long as Woodley gets a guaranteed shot at “McGregor” money. In the UFC their are no guarantees.
The reality is Woodley compiled one win in 2015 and lost a fight against Rory MacDonald at UFC 174 by unanimous decision nearly two years ago. Will this be enough to be granted a title shot?
