VIDEO | Conor McGregor highlight – It was all a Dream

Conor McGregor has taken over the game of mixed martial arts in just a few years fighting in the UFC.

“The Notorious” made his UFC debut on April 6, 2014, where he took on Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel TV 9. It took McGregor just 1:07 to set the tone for his career in the UFC as he finished Brimage by TKO.

In his second fight in the UFC, McGregor would take on another rising featherweight star, Max Holloway who has also worked his way up the rankings and is currently the UFC interim featherweight champion. McGregor and Holloway battled their way to a decision where the Irishman was unanimously awarded the win by all three judges.

“The Notorious” would then go on to win five more fights in the UFC featherweight division, finishing all of his opponents and picking up a UFC interim featherweight title against Chad Mendes and claiming the undisputed featherweight title with his stunning knockout over Jose Aldo at UFC 194 in December of 2015.

UFC 196

McGregor’s biggest rival to date came with short notice as Nate Diaz stepped in to fight McGregor in a welterweight bout after then-lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of the scheduled lightweight title fight against McGregor due to injury. Diaz, on 11 days notice came in and shocked the world, submitting McGregor in the second round by rear-naked choke at UFC 196. McGregor and Diaz would rematch a little over five months later at UFC 202 where McGregor was able to even the score by winning a majority decision.

In his most recent fight at UFC 205, “The Notorious” was able to add his name to the history books by becoming the first concurrent two-division UFC champion by picking apart then-lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez . It was a dominant performance for McGregor, knocking Alvarez down multiple times in the first round and then ultimately finishing the fight in the second by TKO.
