In the co-main event of UFC 232, which goes down on December 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes will step up to the featherweight division to battle fearsome divisional champion Cris Cyborg.
Ahead of this mammoth super fight, the UFC has released video footage of one of the most impressive victory Amanda Nunes has delivered to date: a late 2016 execution of former champion and WMMA icon Ronda Rousey.
Relive Nunes’s destruction of Rousey in the video below:
While this fight with Ronda Rousey helped to catapult Amanda Nunes into the limelight, she says she believes her looming fight with Cyborg is even bigger.
“For sure,” she added when asked if it’s bigger than her fight with Ronda Rousey. “This is going to be the two most dominant fighters. It’s going to be a good one.”
Nunes added that she’s not sure what to expect when the cage door closes at UFC 232, but assured she’s ready for whatever Cyborg does.
“I don’t know, honestly,” she said when asked for a prediction for the fight. “I’m ready for everything and let’s see how Cris is going to show up and compete.”
Amanda Nunes last fought in May, when she defended her title with a dominant stoppage defeat of Raquel Pennington. In her next most recent fight, she defended her title against current UFC flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko. This victory was preceded by her win over Rousey.
Ronda Rousey has not fought since losing to Nunes. She’s now well established as a WWE star.
