The stakes are high for this one, and “Cowboy” believes it will be an entertaining scrap where anything can happen.
“There’s not many guys who just hit the ground, roll, come up, throw an elbow, (and) spin with such conviction,” Donald Cerrone said to MMAJunkie. “This is going to be one of those fights where you don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know what Tony’s going to do. He’s going to bring it, and we’re going to stand and throw the (expletive) down. I think for the fans, they know that as well.
“It’s fun. I love it, I love, love, love, love it. I don’t know what else to say other than that. People know (when) ‘Cowboy’ is fighting (they need to) pull the (expletive) car over, find a bar, buy the pay-per-view, and watch it because it’s going down.”
Donald Cerrone believes he can finish Tony Ferguson
Although Cerrone isn’t sure how it will go, he is eyeing a stoppage of Tony Ferguson. “El Cucuy” hasn’t lost a fight since 2012, but “Cowboy” believes the former interim champion has a questionable chin and can be knocked out. And, given the fact that Cerrone has shown he has knockout power, he believes a finish is very possible.
“This is a No. 1 contender, so this is undoubtedly the way (to the belt),” Cerrone said. “I think I can go in there and finish him. I really do. He’s got a kind of questionable jaw, and he’s just real looney and crazy. If you can beat crazy with crazy, let’s go.”
