Last weekend, on the undercard of UFC 238, former UFC strawweight title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz lost a decision to Mexico’s Alexa Grasso. With this loss, the Polish star fell on to a three-fight skid — which has led her to confront what she calls a “painful” reality.

While Karolina Kowalkiewicz intends to continue fighting and putting on fun fights for her fans, she says she believes that her best days are behind her.

Talk about brutal honesty.

“Big congratulations for @alexa_grasso you did a great job 💪thank you all for your support and warm words. Do not worry about me, it was better, but I’m fine. Bruises on the face will heal soon. I left my heart in this fight, but unfortunately I missed something … I’m not the same player anymore. Unfortunately, the painful truth is that the best years and the top of the form are behind me, there are a lot of young, talented ambitious players who have to give way … but do not worry, I will come back and give good fights maybe not at the very top “But I will give you many emotions, just give me some time … thank you again! ❤️😘 #ufc #lovemyjob #kk” – Karolina Kowalkiewicz on Instagram.

Although Karolina Kowalkiewicz now finds herself on a tough skid, she once stood out as one of the best strawweights in the world. In fact, “The Polish Princess” even holds a win over former champion Rose Namajunas. Other highlights of her record include wins over Randa Markos and Felice Herrig.

What do you think of this incredibly honest comment from her?
