Many have been wondering how Jon Jones would fare in the heavyweight division and Francis Ngannou wouldn’t mind being a dance partner.

Ngannou and Jones are currently on different paths. ‘The Predator’ is set to take on former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos in the main event of UFC Minneapolis this Saturday night (June 29). Meanwhile, ‘Bones’ is scheduled to defend his light heavyweight gold against Thiago Santos in the UFC 239 headliner on July 6.

TMZ Sports caught up with Francis Ngannou before his fight with “Cigano”, where he expressed his interest in a future bout with Jon Jones (via MMAMania.com):

“Personally, I mean, it would be a good fight, first of all for the fans, for me, yes. Even though Jon Jones is a light heavyweight, this guy has made his legacy, dominating the whole division. He’s a big dude. I met him once, we almost, we are the same height, we are almost the same thing. I might just have a few pounds on him. That would be a legit fight. I’m here for the challenge, but I just want to take things one at a time. I don’t want to mix them up. But yes, I would definitely want that fight.”

Jones has said that he’d like to have at least three more fights at light heavyweight before considering a move up. For now Jones will have to focus on Santos, who has every intent to send “Bones” on dream street. It won’t be long to find out who gets their way in that bout.

While Francis Ngannou has devastating knockout power, he’ll be facing no slouch in Junior dos Santos. “Cigano” is riding a three-fight winning streak with victories over Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa, and Blagoy Ivanov. “The Predator” will look to halt dos Santos’ momentum while keeping his own intact. Ngannou finished both Cain Velasquez and Curtis Blaydes in under a minute and hopes to nab his third straight win.

Do you think we’ll ever see Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones collide?
