UFN 87 Results: Karolina Kowalkiewicz defeats Heather Jo Clark via decision

A women’s strawweight bout between Karolina Kowalkiewicz (9-0 MMA) and Heather Jo Clark (7-5 MMA) took place at today’s UFC Fight Night 87 event in Rotterdam.

Heather Jo Clark was able to land some good right hands and control the pace in the opening round. Clark pressed Kowalkiewicz against the fence on a couple of occasions where she landed some good knees and short punches. Karolina did land a good spinning back fist towards the end of round one, but the judges likely scored the round for Clark.

Round two begins and Kowalkiewicz presses forward with punches. She lands a good knee from the clinch. Good right hand from Karolina. Clark shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Karolina pops right back to her feet however. Good right hand from Clark. Kowalkiewicz replies with a nice combo. Good right hands from both women. Clark presses Karolina against the fence. Good knees from Kowalkiewicz. Clark looks stunned. She shoots in for a double leg. Nice knees from Clark. Karolina responds with some elbows and then a big shot. Knees from the clinch by Karolina. She takes the back of Clark briefly. Karolina with the takedown. She rolls for an armbar as round two comes to an end.

Round three begins and Clark opens with a high kick. Nice right hand from Kowalkiewicz. The ladies exchange leg kicks. Karolina with a back fist and the a right hand. Clark did not like those shots. Kowalkiewicz gets a hold of her back. Clark spins and presses Karolina against the fence. Kowalkiewicz breaks free and lands a good combo followed by a stiff jab. Huge combination from Karolina. She is busting Clark up now. Heather presses Karolina against the fence. Kowalkiewicz breaks free and lands a crisp jab. Heather with a left hand. Nice combo and then a kick from Karolina. Clark shoots in but can’t land the takedown. Kowalkiewicz with a couple of nice right hands. She lands a huge combination as the horn sounds to end the fight.
