By Justin Golightly - November 11, 2017

There’s no secret that Tyron Woodley wanted the winner between Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre’s fight at UFC 217. Now that St-Pierre made his successful return and captured the UFC middleweight title, Woodley has stepped into overdrive to try and make this superfight happen. On his new show with TMZ Executive Producer Evan Roseblum, Woodley talked to the man face-to-face to get the biggest fight of his career.

Tyron Woodley

“Now you’ve had your warm-up fight, you’ve beat up [Michael] Bisping. I think it’s time to solidify. You’re the greatest welterweight of all time. That’s my goal to be the greatest welterweight of all time. Let’s get it in. Forget the contract, you were the welterweight king at one point. Anything that’s gonna’ sell, the UFC’s gonna’ do. I’ll come up to middleweight, we can do that fight there. Both of us don’t have to get in the sauna’s much. Let’s get it in. Robert Whittaker or Tyron Woodley? Just think about it. Legacy wise for me? There’s not a fight I want more.”

“You’re the pay-per-view king. You set the blueprint, then Conor [McGregor], and Ronda [Rousey], and Jon [Jones], and everybody started doing it, so you came back to participate in the pay-per-view. If that’s the case, is this a situation where you coming back because you set the mold and you want to cash in?  Or do you really want to reign over a division? Because I’m here. I’m in the division that you used to run and I want to show you I’m the best in the world.” — Tyron Woodley speaking to Georges St-Pierre on The Hollywood Beatdown.

Georges St-Pierre, who was mostly laughs during the interview, never gave Tyron Woodley a straight answer and maintains that he is contractually obligated to defend the belt against interim UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker to unify the titles. A consummate professional, St-Pierre didn’t rule out the fight though and dropped a line from the movie Predator.

“I know legacy wise, there’s not a fight you want more and you want the pay-per-view [money] as well, that’s why everyone want to fight me. You’re the best in the world at what you do. I’m the best in the world at what I do. WE’re all the best in the world at what we do. I’ll tell you what I said to you last time [after UFC 217]. There is a line in the movie Predator when Arnold Schwarzenegger threw the knife, ‘Stick around.”
