Fighters react to TJ Dillashaw stopping Cody Garbrandt for a second time
TJ Dillashaw put his UFC bantamweight title on the line against former champion Cody Garbrandt in the headliner of tonight’s UFC 227 event from Los Angeles.
“Killashaw” and “No Love” head previously met at UFC 217 in New York, with TJ emerging victorious via second-round knockout.
Tonight’s rematch proved to be slightly different, as TJ Dillashaw finished Cody Garbrandt in round one instead of round two.
It was a similar shot to that from their previous encounter that had “No Love” in all sorts of trouble. Dillashaw would stay on Cody with relentless pressure and eventually forced the referee to mercifully step in and save Garbrandt from his own toughness.
