Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland admits he is a little mentally unstable.

Strickland has never been afraid to say what is on his mind and he often gets close or does cross the line with what he says. He has said a lot of that is due to how he was raised, explaining the situation on Theo Von’s podcast speaking about his childhood.

“One day, it was so f****d up, they just got in a bad fight, it was like third, fourth grade, my dad was like ‘f**k that, he’s not sleeping in here tonight, kick him out,’” SeanStrickland said on Theo Von’s podcast. “So I like army crawled under the bed and I’m sleeping under the bed. I’m like laying under the bed as they’re fighting because I think my dad was going to kill my mom.

“My dad gets on top of my mom and I remember he said ‘I’m going to f*****g kill you tonight.’ Maybe it’s just rough sex, we don’t know at this moment. I’m under the bed and he starts strangling her. I get out and the only thing I can see is a guitar, I just f******g crack him in the head and call the cops. I run down the street to call the cops, he’s arrested and my dumb ass mom bails him out of jail. I would say that’s the tip of the iceberg,” Strickland continued.

Now, taking to social media, Sean Strickland admitted he is “a little” mentally unstable and provided an example of what goes through his mind at times.

“I’m a little mentally unstable, Its important to be surrounded with people who understand you and help I’ll wake up some days wanting to strangle a puppy “Sean are you doing ok?” “Yes I’m good, I’m so happy!” If im happy it’s harder for me to see how understable I am,” Strickland wrote on X.

It is an interesting tweet from Strickland, but there is some positive in it as he tells the importance of being around people who understand him. He believes that plays a key role in getting through the tough times, that anyone goes through.

As for his fighting career, Sean Strickland is coming off a split decision loss to Dricus Du Plessis in January to lose his middleweight title. He currently does not have his next fight booked.
