Rafael dos Anjos offers to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov

Late Tuesday evening, news broke that Tony Ferguson was injured and would no longer be able to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC on FOX 19 on April 16th in Tampa Florida. While it didn’t take long for fan favorite fighter Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone to offer to fill-in on short notice to fight Khabib, UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is now offering to fight Khabib in order to attempt to avenge his 2014 loss to ‘The Eagle’.

Eddie Alvarez vs. Rafael dos Anjos set for UFC 200?

Rafael dos Anjos: Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz 2 makes no sense

UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos was initially slated to fight Conor McGregor for the lightweight championship at UFC 196 on March 5th, however a broken foot forced dos Anjos out of the fight. Ultimately Nate Diaz stepped in as a late replacement for dos Anjos with less than two weeks until fight night. Diaz then proceeded to submit McGregor in the 2nd round of their welterweight scrap.

Report: UFC denies RDA's request to fight Robbie Lawler or Nate Diaz at UFC 200

According to a report from Ariel Helwani, the UFC has denied Rafael dos Anjos’ request to fight either Nate Diaz or Robbie Lawler at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event in Las Vegas. ‘UFC Tonight’ revealed the news on Twitter:

Leading up to UFC 196, there was much speculation as to a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Robbie Lawler at UFC 200 if McGregor were to defeat Nate Diaz at UFC 196. Ultimately, as everyone knows by now, Diaz submitted McGregor in the 2nd round of their welterweight scrap. Following the bout, McGregor revealed that he plans to go back down to featherweight to defend his championship. That of course has led to a slew of talk regarding who McGregor should defend his championship against.

With less than two weeks out from the biggest fight of his career, lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of his scheduled bout with featherweight champion Conor McGregor with a foot injury. Dos Anjos updated everyone with his injured foot. Yesterday morning UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos withdrew from his UFC 196 main event title fight against Conor McGregor due to a broken foot. The UFC ultimately replaced dos Anjos with Nate Diaz on short notice, and moved the bout from 155 pounds to 170 pounds given that Diaz was stepping in on short notice.
