Former welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal was nearly added to UFC 300 in April. ‘Gamebred’ has been out of action since a unanimous decision defeat to Gilbert Burns last April. Jorge Masvidal showed some spark against ‘Durinho’, but was largely battered across 15 minutes. The welterweight promised to retire with a defeat, and he kept his word post-fight. He retired in the center of the cage, in an emotional moment.

A former high school and collegiate wrestler who had once defeated Jon Jones on the mat, he made it on The Ultimate Fighter 7. That’s despite the fact, that he had no professional fights. Riddle didn’t win the middleweight tournament on the show, but had a successful run in the UFC nonetheless.

Well, Masvidal kept his word for a little less than a year.

BKFC founder David Feldman has announced some marquee fights for their annual KnuckleMania card, including the return of Mike Perry, which takes place on April 27. KnuckleMania 4 is set to take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California and the card now has its main event. In the state of California, the commission not only has official weigh-ins, but they also make the fighters weigh-in when they get to the arena in order to record their fight night weight. The commission uses the fight night weights to see how much fighters gain, and if a fighter gained more than 10 percent back before the bout, they may recommend the fighter to move up in weight.

Dan Hooker is getting close to a return to the Octagon. Hooker is currently ranked 10th at lightweight and hasn’t fought since July of 2023, when he beat Jalin Turner by split decision. However, shortly before the fight, he suffered another injury to his arm and had to pull out of the bout and has been rehabbing ever since.
