Just over a month has passed since former UFC no. 1 pound-for-pound fighter Jose Aldo lost for the first time in over ten years. Conor McGregor took the UFC featherweight championship belt from Aldo in a 13-second knockout fight that left people in awe. Aldo recently spoke with PVT and revealed some interesting things leading up to his fight with McGregor and his mindset on the future (transcribed by MMA Fighting):

It was a breath of fresh air after the Nevada State Athletic Commission came to a settlement on Nick Diaz’s suspension and fine on Tuesday. The commission who previously had a five-year suspension and $165,000 fine slapped on Diaz for testing positive for Marijuana in the state for the third time reduced the penalties on Tuesday. Diaz’s reduced suspension will allow him to compete again in August 2016 and his fine was reduced to $100,000.

Yesterday it was revealed that Yoel Romero had failed an out-of-competition drug test. In addition the UFC released a statement yesterday in the wake of the announcement. Now, Jacare Souza is looking to capitalize on Romero’s failed drug test and put himself in a position to challenge Luke Rockhold for the UFC middleweight championship.

Back in 2013 Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson put on one of the greatest fights in UFC history at UFC 165 when the pair fought to a controversial decision that saw Jones retain the UFC light heavyweight championship. Prior to that however, the pair were featured as guests of honor at Legend Fight Show, where Alexander Emelianenko fought Bob Sapp.

Conor McGregor just booked his fist fight at lightweight against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 197 on March 5th. The fight will not only be McGregor’s first at lightweight, it will be for the lightweight championship. While most champions who move up a division to pursue another championship belt have to vacate the title, that isn’t the case for ‘The Notorious’.

All the hype of a possible record setting re-match with boxing sensation turned MMA fighter will not go down this summer in Las Vegas after all.   Joe Rogan gave his assessment on what the future could hold for Ronda Rousey with her re-match against Holm and it wasn’t a favorable one for the former champ. White spoke with Yahoo! Sports that Rousey’s  film “Road House” was delayed . The halting of the movie production resulted  in Rousey to ask White to extend he ‘break’ from fighting.

Yoel Romero made headlines on Tuesday as news broke of the UFC middleweight top contender’s “potential Anti-Doping Policy violation,” in which the UFC was notified by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Fighters and media members reacted and took to social media, with fellow UFC middleweights Tim Kennedy and Michael Bisping throwing some heavy shots at Romero.

BJ “The Prodigy” Penn has recently said that he was looking to get back in fighting shape and see how he feels in training, and possibly get another fight in the Octagon. Penn spoke with fellow UFC Hall of Fame legend Frank Trigg and mentioned that he would like to take every advantage from all aspects of training to integrate into his game plan if he does in fact make a return. From high elevation training to any new revolutionary training regiment, Penn wants to be as best prepared for a return fight in the UFC.
