It looks as if Nick Diaz is a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio, who recently won the Golden Globe Award for best actor in his work done in The Revenant. Diaz reposted an older photo with DiCaprio at a high rollers casino card table with the caption reading, “Can’t wait to see this new movie #leonardodicaprio” The Revenant, DiCaprio’s latest film was released on Friday and came in at number 2 in the box office behind the new Star Wars film.

It was expected that the NSAC would give their final ruling on their settlement talks with Nick Diaz today during their hearing, and they delivered! Ariel Helwani is reporting that Diaz’s suspension has been shortened to 18 months, and his fine had been reduced to $100,000. Given the reduced suspension, Diaz is eligible to fight August 1st of this year.

As a beloved MMA fan of combat sports,  we tend to fill our memory banks with countless replays of bloody battles and 1st round KO’s.   Sometimes it’s refreshing to hear the ‘not so pressing’ questions about a fighter’s opponent or having to respond to rumors.   Sometimes….we just want to know the person.

Wanderlei Silva is first on the hot-seat tomorrow as the Nevada Athletic commission look to re-view Silva’s 2014 incident where he ran from a drug test. The “non-training run” may cost him $70,000 and a lifetime ban. Silva’s defense team has stated that their client wasn’t licensed during the time the test was administered which resulted in Silva’s mad dash.

Ronda Rousey looks to be collecting more motivation and is still in her “#quotephase” after losing her championship title to Holly Holm at UFC 193. Rousey posted a quote to her Instagram account from Robert Green Ingersoll who once said, “The greatest test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.”
