Max Holloway has become a fan favorite fighter, and has quickly climbed his way to the top of the UFC’s featherweight ladder with an 8-fight win streak. Holloway’s last loss came at the hands of UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor back in 2013. Since then, Holloway has won 8 fights in 2 years including wins over Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.

Last month it was announced that former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson had signed with Bellator MMA, and would get an immediate title shot. The move was a bit of a shocking one, however signing a former UFC champion was a big move for Bellator MMA.

At ‘UFC Fight Night: Vegas’ last week where Stephen Thompson scored an incredible 1st round KO over Johny Hendricks, Mickey Gall defeated Mike Jackson on the UFC Fight Pass prelims. With his win over Jackson, Gall was named as the man to fight CM Punk at UFC 200. Punk seemed to be thrilled, even picking up journalist Ariel Helwani. Unfortunately, several days after the fight it was revealed that Punk had to undergo back surgery and would likely be unable to fight at UFC 200. Despite that, when Punk’s back is healed in 4-6 weeks he will fight Mickey Gall.

On February 27th Michael Bisping and Anderson Silva will square off in a highly anticipated match of veterans. Both men have been at the top of the UFC’s middleweight division for quite some time, however have yet to fight one another. While Silva reigned as the king of the middleweight division for nearly 10 years, Bisping was always just shy of a title shot. On February 27th he will finally get the chance to fight Silva and get his name in the title mix once again.

In what is likely the strangest combat sports card in the history of, well…combat sports, UR Fight is reportedly putting on a fight card that is leaving us scratching our heads. The event, which is scheduled for March 20th according to MMAWeekly will feature a grappling match between Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping, a MMA fight between Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn, a pro-wrestling match between Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio, and a boxing match between Roy Jones Jr. and a fan who has yet to be selected.

Donald Cerrone is currently gearing up for his ‘UFC Fight Night: Pittsburgh’ main event bout against Alex ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira, however that hasn’t stopped Cerrone from plotting about the rest of 2016. ‘Cowboy’ is coming off a 1st round TKO loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on FOX 17 earlier this year, and is looking to get a fight with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor after ‘Notorious’ has his scrap with dos Anjos at UFC 196 on March 5th.

News surfaced late Friday evening that former UFC champion Tito Ortiz had been cited for misdemeanor battery outside of a Las Vegas nightclub. The situation in question was with a woman over a cell phone which lead to Ortiz allegedly getting physical in an attempt to take the phone. When police arrived at The Cromwell hotel, Ortiz was not placed under arrest and was issued a citation.

At UFC 194 Chris Weidman lost his UFC middleweight championship at the hands of Luke Rockhold. Rockhold impressed fans as he seemed to dominate Weidman wherever the fight took place over the course of 4 rounds before ultimately picking up a 4th round TKO win.

Sage Northcutt is coming off the first loss of his professional career at the hands of Bryan Barberena earlier this month. Since his loss to Barberena, Northcutt revealed that he would be training full-time at Tristar gym in Montreal. He also assured his fans that he would be back better than ever for his next fight.

Travis Browne is coming off a TKO win over Matt Mitrione earlier this year, and is looking to get back in the Octagon sooner rather than later. On the other hand, Roy Nelson is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jared Rosholt earlier this month. The win snapped Nelson’s 3-fight skid that had seen him lose to Mark Hunt, Alistair Overeem, and Josh Barnett.

If you haven’t already seen “The Notorious” give his pre-recorded acceptance speech for the Fighter of the Year award, he roasts UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum for pulling out of his title fight due to injury.

McGregor will attempt to be the first fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two division’s championship titles. However, McGregor will have a daunting task standing in front of him on March 5, with lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos looking to derail the McGregor train.
