Cormier spoke on The MMA Hour to discuss his knee injury, Jon Jones’ legal troubles, and his decision to ultimately withdraw from the highly anticipated event.

Cormier suffered an injury in training that forced him out of the championship rematch with Jones. Ovince Saint Preux has stepped in to face Jones on short notice and the two will fight for the interim championship on April 23rd at UFC 197.

Former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares grappled in the main event of Polaris 3 event in Poole, England over the weekend in the main event against Garry Tonon. The two fought an exciting match to a draw, but Palhares has been getting a lot of attention from an interview he did with Sportsmail about a fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor. “I would consider returning to the UFC just to fight McGregor,” Palhares said. “I would kill him. He is too small and weak in Jiu Jitsu to beat me. It would be a privilege to fight him but I would dominate with my ground game and submit him easily. When I play the fight In my head I see him giving in from a foot hold.”

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has a bad history with driving. Most recently, an alleged drag racing incident ended up getting Jones locked behind bars for three days for violating his probation that he was on for a previous hit-and-run accident. One would think that it would be best for a successful former champion like Jones to have a full-time personal driver with having such a history behind the wheel. It sounds like that is now the case, according to Jones’ head coach Greg Jackson.

When UFC light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier was first reported to be out of the UFC 197 championship fight with Jon Jones, there was a big buzz on who the opponent would be if Jones was still fighting at UFC 197. Jones posted a video saying he was willing to get an opponent at light heavyweight or heavyweight.

UFC featherweight contender Max “Blessed” Holloway (15-3 MMA) feels a little ‘left out’ following the recent UFC 200 bookings for fellow division contenders Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo, who will meet for the interim featherweight strap on July 9 in Las Vegas. Holloway had recently been campaigning for a rematch with current division title holder Conor McGregor, but had stated that he would settle for either the aforementioned Aldo or Edgar.
