Cormier suffered an injury in training that forced him out of the championship rematch with Jones. Ovince Saint Preux has stepped in to face Jones on short notice and the two will fight for the interim championship on April 23rd at UFC 197.

Former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares grappled in the main event of Polaris 3 event in Poole, England over the weekend in the main event against Garry Tonon. The two fought an exciting match to a draw, but Palhares has been getting a lot of attention from an interview he did with Sportsmail about a fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor. “I would consider returning to the UFC just to fight McGregor,” Palhares said. “I would kill him. He is too small and weak in Jiu Jitsu to beat me. It would be a privilege to fight him but I would dominate with my ground game and submit him easily. When I play the fight In my head I see him giving in from a foot hold.”

The heated rivalry between former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and the current champion Daniel Cormier will continue on with Cormier having to pull out their title fight at UFC 197 on April 23rd. BJPENN.COM reported on Friday that Cormier had to withdraw from the title fight with Jones due to an injury suffered in training. The UFC revealed shortly after that Ovince Saint Preux has stepped in on short notice to replace Cormier and fight Jones for the interim title.

It was reported on Friday that Cormier suffered an injury in training and would not be able to fight on the scheduled April 23rd date for UFC 197 against Jones. The UFC revealed shortly after that Ovince Saint Preux would step in on short notice to fight Jones for the interim title in the main event of UFC 197.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has a bad history with driving. Most recently, an alleged drag racing incident ended up getting Jones locked behind bars for three days for violating his probation that he was on for a previous hit-and-run accident. One would think that it would be best for a successful former champion like Jones to have a full-time personal driver with having such a history behind the wheel. It sounds like that is now the case, according to Jones’ head coach Greg Jackson.

Current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is unfortunately out of his title fight with Jon Jones at UFC 197 in April due to an injury suffered in training. It was announced by the UFC that Ovince Saint Preux would be stepping in as a late replacement for Cormier to face Jones in an interim title fight. Cormier spoke with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour on Monday and surprised everyone when he invited OSP to join AKA in preparation for the bout with Jones.

It has been over three years since Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo met for the UFC featherweight title at UFC 156 back in 2013. Aldo was able to win a unanimous decision and defend his title from the former UFC lightweight champion. Now, the two will rematch for the UFC featherweight interim title at UFC 200 in July.

Carwin has been very active with his fans on his social media accounts and going through the comments, you have to wonder not if, but when the heavyweight will be back in the Octagon. When UFC light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier was first reported to be out of the UFC 197 championship fight with Jon Jones, there was a big buzz on who the opponent would be if Jones was still fighting at UFC 197. Jones posted a video saying he was willing to get an opponent at light heavyweight or heavyweight.

UFC featherweight contender Max “Blessed” Holloway (15-3 MMA) feels a little ‘left out’ following the recent UFC 200 bookings for fellow division contenders Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo, who will meet for the interim featherweight strap on July 9 in Las Vegas. Holloway had recently been campaigning for a rematch with current division title holder Conor McGregor, but  had stated that he would settle for either the aforementioned Aldo or Edgar.
